In the Andean foothills, between 300 and 2000 meters above sea level, you can find Sangre de Drago, which is another name for the same plant in Peru. It grows along the canyon walls. The Sangre de Drago trees can be found in groves of various sizes. The slender tree has reddish-grey bark speckled with white. It can reach a height of 10–20 meters. Its crown is quite branchy toward the top. Light green, heart-shaped, and coated with little hairs, the leaves are huge, measuring 12–30 cm in length. An array of blossoms, ranging from white and green to amber, adorn it. The fruit is shaped like a dragon and is little, spherical, crimson, and hairy. In response to a bark cut, the tree "bleeds" a blood-like dark red liquid. That which is both blood and fruit is where the name "Dragon's Blood" originates.
Its long history of use dates back to ancient Peruvian medicine. Because of its powerful anti-virus capabilities, it has become widely used. In addition to these properties, it has anti-cancer, antioxidant, hemostatic, anti-mould, and tonifying effects. It strongly stimulates the immune system. It aids in the organism's capacity to regenerate. Sangre de Drago contains a wide variety of chemicals, but taspine stands out as particularly noteworthy. This alkaloid has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial qualities, making it a potential therapeutic agent. Both the wounds and the stomach mucus can benefit from its use. This chemical is responsible for Sangre's widespread use in the treatment of AIDS and other forms of diarrhea. Intestinal inflammation, Crohn's disease, bloating, digestive problems, ulcers of the duodenum and stomach, and other gastrointestinal disorders can all benefit from its use.
Research has discovered another chemical that has strong anti-viral properties; this substance is effective against airway viruses, influenza, flu-like infections, acne viruses, inflammation of the throat, oral cavity, tonsils, angina, and hepatitis A, B, and C. It is utilized in cases of leukemia and contains some anti-cancer qualities. For rheumatism, shingles, tuberculosis, and anemia, it works wonders.
Additionally, Sangre de Drago, often known as Dragon's Blood, has remarkable exterior uses: it stops bleeding, prevents infections, speeds up skin regeneration, and aids in collagen production.
On the injured area, it forms a barrier. The result is a rapid recovery time for the wound. If you have a cut, scrape, burn, insect bite, dermomycosis, dermatosis, gum bleeding, periodontitis, bleeding after tooth extraction, hemorrhoids, or any other type of wound, this is the way to go. It's also great for post-operative wounds.
Include it in your home first aid kit; it will be an invaluable asset.
